Warmer Energy Services continues to help eradicate fuel poverty

As published in the winter 2012-2013 issue fo NEA Today magazine (page 22)

Merseyside based Warmer Energy Services, previously known as Warmer Heating Ltd, has traded for over 20 years with the aim of providing bespoke heating and renewable solutions in the North West of England. The company has utilised expert knowledge and experience in the industry, and has strongly developed and diversified heavily into renewable energy and green solutions

Over the past few years, Warmer Energy services have undertaken work on behalf of a number of housing associations including Riverside, Plus Dane and private residents to help reduce the number of households declared fuel poor. Under the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP), households can receive free measures to reduce their monthly energy bills, and create a more energy efficient home. There is no catch; it’s completely free of charge to the end user.

Eligible measures include: External Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation, Draught Proofing, Boiler Replacement, and Heating Control Upgrade. Warmer Energy Services has previously commenced eligible measures in Halton Brook in Halton, Peel Road in Bootle and Glebe Green in Cheshire, and aims to complete further projects in Merseyside over the next few months.

(See an example of some of the firm’s work of External Wall Insulation in Halton)

Warmer Energy Services has been able to take 2000 plus households out of fuel poverty so far under the CESP scheme, and has successfully secured funding in partnership with utility partners, to continue to deliver these measures to a further 5000 plus homes until March 2013. Considering this scheme is due to finish in December 2012, securing funding for a further three months is significant, and can make a big difference to thousands of residents.

Warmer Energy Services are proactively seeking to maximise the impact they can have on the community with the services they offer, and are dedicated to helping reduce fuel poverty and increase the quality of life of these households. Additionally, the established link between poorly heated, cold or damp homes and health issues, as researched by the National Health Service; is of a high concern to the company, to which they feel their services can help to reduce.

Phil Warren Managing Director says “We are proud of what we have achieved and are devoted to continuing with such a great cause. We take our social reasonability efforts seriously and aim to help the community in any way we can”.

Furthermore the company have secured Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Funding which is part of Green deal to deliver similar measures to Low income or vulnerable households, with the same principle to help them out of fuel poverty; and increase their quality of life. The aim is for work to commence under this particular scheme from early 2013, which will be part of a five year dedicated plan.

If householders wish to see if they are eligible for any of the funding schemes Warmer Energy Services can offer, they are encouraged to contact them at the number below for information and the eligibility process.
