HD-SDI CCTV cameras, also known as HD security cameras, are quickly gaining popularity as a high definition video surveillance solution. With the advent of CCTV HD-SDI technology for CCTV cameras, users can now capture 1080p resolution video using the same RG59 coaxial cable that is used by traditional CCTV cameras. HD CCTV cameras, are capable of capturing video surveillance footage at 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). These high definition surveillance cameras must be used with an HD-SDI surveillance DVR. CCTV ResolutionOur customers often ask us about CCTV resolution (the recording quality from CCTV cameras). Naturally a customer wants to know how clear the video resolution will be from a system before making a purchase decision. CCTV resolution is measured in vertical and horizontal pixel dimensions and typically limited by the capabilities of both the camera and the recorder that you are using for your CCTV surveillance installation. The higest resolution that can be captured and stored is 720 x 576 (PAL for Europe). This resolution is knows as D1 resolution.
